The Short Version
The calculator runs in your browser. The times, breaks, and pay rates you type stay on your device. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the tool or read a guide. We do measure visits with Google Analytics, and the sections below explain how.
Who We Are
This site is gadgetfreeks.us. It offers a free work hours calculator and guides on time cards, overtime, breaks, and decimal hours. Muhammad Haseeb Khan runs the site and writes the guides. For privacy questions, write to contact@gadgetfreeks.us.
What We Collect and Why
| Information | Why we use it | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator entries (times, breaks, rates, settings) | To keep your week on screen when you return | Your browser only |
| Visit data (pages viewed, device, browser, approximate location, referring site) | To learn which guides help readers and fix what does not | Google Analytics |
| Server logs (IP address, browser, page requested, time) | To keep the site secure and find errors | Our web host |
| Emails you send us | To reply, fix a bug, or check a correction | Our email inbox |
Data You Enter in the Calculator
Your entries go into your browser's local storage. That data never reaches our servers, so we cannot read it. The Clear button on the calculator removes it. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see how readers move through the site. Google sets cookies or similar identifiers for this purpose. It reports to us in totals, such as pages viewed and countries visited. We do not use it to identify you by name. Google handles the data under its own privacy policy. You can stop the tracking with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Advertising
We may show ads on this site through third-party ad partners. If we do, those partners can use cookies and similar technology to serve ads and measure how they perform. Some ads may be based on your visits to this and other sites. Before ads go live, we will name the providers here and add a way to manage your choices where the law requires it. You can already opt out of much interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
Ads never change what we write. Our editorial policy explains how we choose topics and check facts.
Third-Party Services and Links
The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and browser details. Many guides link to outside sources, such as the U.S. Department of Labor. Those sites set their own privacy rules, and we do not control them.
How Long We Keep Information
Analytics data follows the retention setting we choose in Google Analytics. Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted by our host. We keep emails as long as we need them to answer you and to track corrections. After that, we delete them.
Your Choices
- Clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to stop analytics tracking.
- Use your browser's privacy controls to limit ad tracking.
- Email us to ask what we hold about you, to fix it, or to delete it.
Your Rights by Location
Residents of California and several other U.S. states may have the right to know what personal information a business collects, to ask for a copy, to correct it, and to ask for deletion. They may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. If our ad setup ever counts as sharing under state law, we will add a clear opt-out link here.
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also ask us to limit or stop processing your data and to move it to another service. We rely on your consent for cookies that are not essential. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure and useful site for server logs. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
When our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. For a question about this policy, use the contact page. You may also read our terms of use.
